Hey there! My name is Micah Kongkousonh and I am a 21 year old blade maker and artist in west Illinois. I have been working with metal for over 6 years and in 2023 I started making knives as a job. Before I was a knifemaker, I worked for about 7 years at my family’s machine shop as a janitor and worked my way to being a machinist, ending my time there working in inspection. In 2022 I graduated community college with a 2 year associates degree in Mechanical Engineering. My goal now is to grow with the American Bladesmith Society (ABS) and show and sell work that I am proud of.

In my personal life, I enjoy drawing, hiking, reading, watching movies, and volunteering with my church’s students. My favorites movies are the Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as different animated ones and an occasional rom-com. As for reading, I enjoy J.R.R Tolkien’s writings such as the Silmarillion, historical fiction, and my trusty Bible. I am a born again believer, and I attribute anything good to the Lord. He has gotten me this far, and I’m thankful for it.

I have also been blessed with my loving and supportive family. My parents helped me jump into knifemaking as a job, and my sister did most of the heavy lifting with getting this website made. The last member of my immediate family is our loud beagle, Milkshake. I’m also thankful for many friends who feel like family and the support that they have been as well.

My goal is to use this site as an album of memories and accomplishments, to promote my work and work hard, and to help wherever I can.
