Commission

Do you like any deigns? Do you like the look of a handle but prefer a different blade or any other ideas? If you would like to commission me to have any of these for yourself and my commissions are open, then you can email me via the Contact tab.

Latest work

Coffin Handle Bowie

Here we have a coffin handle bowie knife with a beautiful walnut handle and flame scaled fittings on a blued blade. The blade length is 8.5 inches with a handle at 4.25 inches. The wood came from a gunstock fore end blank that a friend had given me. I had been focused on school and work for a few months before this, so it was a great first project upon my return.

Damascus Sendero Hunting Knife

This was my first go at making a damascus knife. I had the billet laying around and I could not figure out what style of knife to make with it. I ended up going with the sendero style knife that was made by Jerry Fisk (famous knifemaker) and I was glad it came out well. The blade material and wood were both bought at Blade Show West 2024 which was my first ever event. The guard was made from a special block of brass that my grandfather gave me before he passed. This blade using all of this together is a sure testament to my progress so far!

Learning Much and Much to Learn

After Blade Show West 2024, I had shown my latest knife to four master knife makers and they critiqued it. The four men were very honest with me and gave me tips and tricks to help improve what I do. The entire interaction was overwhelmingly positive however and I readily came home and went to work on this bowie knife. It is still not perfect, but it is an improvement on where I was before and I am thankful for that.

Blade Show West 2024

In October 2024 I attended my first blade show in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Here I got to see other peoples’ work, materials, and many people that I already looked up to. One of these people was Will Stelter, a knifesmith YouTuber that I have watched for many years. I ran into him outside of the event as he walked his dog, Marty.

After I walked around the first day, I brought my knife in to be judged by four master knife makers. Here they examined my blade up and down and gave me advice and even a few compliments. I was thankful to get some pointers and even gave Steve Schwarzer an idea for a pewter handled knife. Jared Oeser was definitely the most encouraging though and I look forward to crossing paths with him again down the road.

A special thanks goes to my parents for encouraging me to go meet some other knife makers at this event, my friend Nick for driving 14 hours in one day with me there and back, and another thanks to those that made the event possible along with those who critiqued my knife and gave advice.

To God be the glory for my safety and all else that was good on this trip!
